My next stop was short, but sweet as I made my way over to LazerX Arena in Kirkland, WA.
Knowing full well that this tactical arena uses iCOMBAT equipment, I got a kick out of the fact that they are located right next door to an unrelated business called Invictus Fitness. I am a fan of irony and it is a cool coincidence. However, LazerX uses the irM4 and not Invictus, so I had to prepare myself for a tactical experience instead.
Game marshal Will arranged for me to play a game of Domination, as I had only a short window of time in the area and could not partake in a full session. He walked me over to their vesting area and set me up with a tagger, vest and head sensor.
A group was already playing in the arena, so he briefed me separately on the reload feature they use with a modified 3D printed button inside.
He also explained the Domination tubes, although I am quite familiar with this particular iCOMBAT accessory.
He walked me across the field to join the next game of the session and I looked around to see some cool aesthetics with a truck and tower structure being what immediately caught my eye.
I was added to team blue and the Domination game began. This is one of my favorite formats with this gear, and I set out to try to change the color of the three tubes spread out at different points in the arena.
Next time perhaps I’ll be able to stay longer, but I was glad to get a chance to experience LazerX on my way through the area. Hope team blue was able to “dominate” (pun intended) in the rest of their games!
