Two More Tampa Area Tag Stops

Before my Florida trip was over I had time for two more quick stops in the Tampa area. First up was Elev8 Fun in Tampa, where I got to play a round of CyberBlast.

I joined a group that was heading into a game and will take this chance to point out that if you don’t remember to take your selfie at the very beginning, you may end up looking like King Hades on the scoreboard at the end!

Sometimes there is something about the game experience that stands out to me, but in this case what I remember most about the experience is the briefing room. As odd as that may sound, this is where I found the unusual and memorable details…is this a spider? Someone show it to Wil and ask!

The single level arena was fairly simple in design, but provided an enjoyable game.

Am I in the middle of some kind of alien adventure?

This structure was probably the most eye catching element of the arena.

I had a good time playing, but the thing I enjoyed most besides the tag itself is that this arena was conveniently located in a mall…by this point in my trip I truly needed an Auntie Anne’s pretzel!

My next and final tag stop of the trip was to Main Event Wesley Chapel in Lutz, FL.

Generally speaking, Main Event locations tend to follow a formula with their arena theming (Orlando and Tucson locations being the exceptions I have recently discovered), so I took this opportunity to take a familiar series of pics.

(Okay, slightly to the left of my normal spot for this one)

But there is an argument to be made for not having to reinvent the wheel to have a good time!

I enjoyed playing with the Delta Strike Evolution gear.

I’ll say that as FECs with laser tag go, both of these experiences were enjoyable games. However, they were also both a bit non-descriptive, typical FEC experiences. Good for getting me a bit closer on my arena count, but as I edge closer to my next milestone number I am going to be far more interested in finding interesting or unusual arenas that really stand out from the pack. I was fortunate to find so many of them during the course of this trip. So as my time in Florida came to a close my mind started mulling over where my next adventure might lead. Follow along and let’s see what I find next!
