Hit You with the Highlights

It has been a while since I have had a major tag trip to share with you, but this weekend I got back into the groove. Traveling safely (for the record, yes, I got the vaccine last month) I ventured into Ohio and I had so many amazing things jam packed into one weekend! I played laser tag at 15 different locations across the state and it was like my own personal mini-geddon playing on eight different manufacturers’ systems. In one weekend I played:

CyberBlast

Laserforce

Laser Quest (yes, really!)

Battle Company

Darklight

Zone - Nexus, Helios CE and Helios Pro

Delta Strike

Lasertron

I played at some very interesting arenas and I want to give every site the proper attention, so please bear with me as I take the time to write and organize my adventures properly over the next week or so. I may post some parts of this weekend a bit out of sequence, but will make certain to share all of it as soon as I can.

For now, just consider this post an overview of what I will have to share in greater detail soon. Let me hit you with a few highlights from this trip.

I played at my 350th arena! Scene 75 in Dayton is a phoenix rising story as they have rebuilt bigger and better following the tornado that hit their building Memorial Day weekend of 2019. That’s why I planned my route to make them number 350.

Tag 4 A Cause…laser tagging to raise funds in support of Feeding America and encouraging people to accept the laser tag 5K challenge. We exceeded our fundraising goal and had our first high score trophy contest.

Returning to Mission Control! A visit to Laser Zone Canton, which is the only site in the country currently using the former Laser Quest equipment inside their arena. It was like turning back time and is EXACTLY like you remember it.

End with a tournament? I’m not really sure that’s the right word for what happens at Lasertron, but at the last minute I realized I could probably get there on time (barely), so I got picked up by a team about an hour beforehand and rolled in with about ten minutes to to spare.

So that’s a little taste of what I was up to this past weekend. I can’t wait to tell you more and there are a few more big things on the horizon, so keep an eye out because now that travel is again possible, I look forward to once again bringing you updates on laser tag across the country. Stay tuned!
