Tag 4 A Cause Night at Q-Zar Toledo

Thank you to everyone who came out to Q-Zar Toledo and participated in Tag 4 A Cause! It was a fantastic night of laser tag, friendly competition and fundraising all rolled together and I am delighted to announce that we exceeded our fundraising goal for Feeding America! Congratulations to Nathan Robinson (aka Micro) for winning the Tag 4 A Cause High Score trophy during our Tag 4 A Cause night at Q-Zar Toledo!

This event is part of the spring laser tag 5K challenge that I intend to continue offering quarterly throughout the year to support different charities with the spotlight event moving around to a new laser tag location each time. This time I was very appreciative that Q-Zar Toledo generously got behind this event and helped me to promote it at their facility.

I set up a booth with some information about the cause and people had some great questions about how this event would help Feeding America.

One poster we displayed provided some key facts about the organization we were there to support. Feeding America provided me with some very interesting information. Did you know that through Feeding America just $1 can help provide at least 10 meals to kids, families and individuals facing hunger? In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment has soared and food insecurity is on the rise. In fact, 42 million people may face hunger because of coronavirus. Food banks work to rescue food from grocery stores, food producers, and restaurants to provide to people who need it the most. And 98% of all donations raised for Feeding America go directly into programs serving our neighbors in the U.S. These are just a few reasons I believe it is important to support this organization, so that is exactly what we did.

You can learn more about Feeding America at https://www.feedingamerica.org

Tag 4 A Cause is about fundraising for a worthy cause, but also reminding people about the health benefits and fun that laser tag provides. I want to challenge players to earn the medal by laser tagging the distance of 5 kilometers (or 3.1 miles), which can be done in approximately ten games. So when the All You Can Play sessions got underway we jumped right into some games!

And everyone who participated in Tag 4 A Cause accepted the challenge proudly!

We announced door prize winners throughout the night. Players walked away with cool goodies including game passes to Q-Zar and one lucky winner took home an awesome Bluetooth speaker, courtesy of Q-Zar!

Micro earned the High Score trophy with his top score of the night hitting 20,253. Nicely done!

By the end of the night we had exceeded the fundraising goal I had set on our Teamfeed fundraising page, so I call that a big success! However you can still participate in the Tag 4 A Cause Laser Tag 5K Challenge on your own at any laser tag arena now through the end of June. You can find all the details here.

Many thanks to Q-Zar Toledo, Erik Guthrie, Tysin Morrison, Hannah Mohr and all who took part in the event!

Remember to watch for more laser tag challenges quarterly. I look forward to having many more opportunities to Tag 4 A Cause!
