Successful Tag 4 A Cause at Battle Blast to Support the Alzheimer’s Association

THANK YOU! I want to start with a huge thank you to everyone who made Tag 4 A Cause at Battle Blast Laser Tag in Las Vegas such a tremendous success, raising $2,211 in donations for The Longest Day in support of the Alzheimer’s Association!

This was by far the biggest Tag 4 A Cause event we have hosted so far and I was delighted to work closely with Battle Blast’s new owners, Jessica Gamble and Derek Hoskins, along with Zane, Brycie and their exceptional team.

Tag 4 A Cause is about incorporating fun, fitness and fundraising through laser tag. This was an ideal pairing, as The Longest Day is designed as a vehicle for using creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. You can learn more about the cause we support at ALZ.org.

I spent the last month working closely with Battle Blast to organize this event to coordinate with my visit to Las Vegas for the Laser Tag Convention. They connected me with Jennifer Bradley of JB Public Relations who coordinated some wonderful opportunities for promoting Tag 4 A Cause in the Las Vegas media (no small feat!) and it really helped us get the word out.

Publicity for this event included some early morning laser tag on the local tv news, with thanks to KLAS 8 News Now and reporter Candese Charles for joining us and doing several news segments with interviews that aired live from Battle Blast.

I also appreciated the opportunity to be a radio/podcast guest on Neon & Beyond with Steph MacKenzie, which aired on five Las Vegas radio stations.

And I was glad to share the event while presenting as a guest speaker at the Laser Tag Convention, which was what actually brought me to Las Vegas.

We had an amazing turnout which included many laser tag industry friends coming out to support the cause and of course, play laser tag!

And many others, both from the Las Vegas community and convention-goers, who made the donations that helped us soar far beyond my initial fundraising goal!

There was fierce competition for the newest golden phaser trophy!

I was delighted to present it to our high score winner, Brett Roemmich of Utah.

Brett, Aaron, Jenessa and Haley were some of the out-of town participants who heard about the event at the convention.

We also had tremendous support with donations from local laser tag players and the area business community.

My thanks to The Blondetenders for donating their time and to The Aussie Project for donating a portion of the sales from his delicious hand pies that were available that night.

And I can’t thank Jessica and Derek enough for all they did to promote Tag 4 A Cause.

I stayed very busy passing out medals as thanks to the participants for their donations and challenging them to “earn” the medal by playing the distance of a 5K while laser tagging!

However, when it was all over the most fun was getting to tag with friends, including a couple of industry pros, which made this a really cool way to wind down and just enjoy a game in an awesome arena.

The Battle Blast arena has been one of my favorites since I first played there several years ago. The space is great, the lighting sets the stage and the best part…they started pumping in the scent of cotton candy, which officially makes this the best smelling arena I have ever played!

Looking at the success of what we were able to do to help the Alzheimer’s Association is incredibly heartening and it was all because of everyone who came out to support, so again I say THANK YOU to everybody who made this happen.

It was an honor and a privilege to host Tag 4 A Cause at Battle Blast Laser Tag in Las Vegas. The poster on the door was accurate…this was a really special event!
